Who am I

Hello. My name is Allen Herring.  My home is Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been a professional, employed for all my life.

Only recently though have I started to embrace and state proudly that I am an artist. In fact, I am an award-winning writer and artist. I have been doing creative expression for as long as I can remember, but I have been too cautious, too scared, too in my own head to share my work with others. But hey, life is short, so now, I am putting it out there - warts and all.

I love collage. I love paper. I find the allure of the image…intoxicating. Images…stimulate me, they seduce and entice me. I find myself drawn to an image and I see it blossom into a different composition, a different image space all together.

And so, I find myself getting lost in the creation of a piece. The act of cutting an image from its original production is meditation for me. The process of composing a new collage piece is a meditative act. Being able to view the newly composed image brings me pleasure and joy. I hope you like looking upon them as much as I do.
